Netflix’s growth problem runs deeper than its layoffs

Business Insider’s James Faris reports that Netflix’s 1,000-person layoff follows slowing viewership growth, a failed $82.7 billion Warner Bros. bid, unproven games and podcasts bets, and rising free competition from YouTube, Tubi and Roku Channel.

Why it matters. Advertisers that price against Netflix’s engagement now have to weigh a slower-growing audience as the streamer pushes into sports, games and podcasts to compensate.
