Apple TV tops Emmys with 28 wins, pushing Netflix to a distant third

Apple TV entered the Emmys trailing HBO/HBO Max and Netflix in nominations but won the night with 28 trophies, led by Widow’s Bay’s 14 wins. HBO took 21, Netflix fell to 16, its worst showing since 2016.

Why it matters. Apple’s win with a far smaller content budget than Netflix undercuts the industry argument that award-season prestige requires massive volume spend.
