Fox Sports jumps to No. 2 on YouTube as World Cup highlights drive views

StreamTV Insider’s Bevin Fletcher reports that Fox Sports’ YouTube channel rose from No. 8 in June to No. 2 in July, drawing 35.6 million unique U.S. viewers, a 46% month-over-month increase driven by Men’s FIFA World Cup highlights.

Why it matters. Fox Sports gains reach and buzz from YouTube highlights, but with monetization mechanisms still underdeveloped, it can’t yet turn that audience into revenue on par with what World Cup rights cost.
